Update: Man Riding Moped Killed After Hit-and-Run

A 36-year-old man was riding his moped home from work at about 1:30 a.m. on Monday, January 20. He was traveling along North Central Expressway near Mockingbird lane when he was hit by a car and knocked off his vehicle. Tragically, he fell into the right lane of oncoming traffic and was run over by another car. The 20-year-old woman who allegedly caused the fatal accident left the scene but was stopped by an officer nearby. Dallas police say the woman is accused of driving while intoxicated and failing to stop and render aid.

Originally reported by The Dallas Morning News, information about the accident has been updated to reflect the victim’s name. According to online records, the woman who hit him remains in the Dallas County Jail and her bail has not been set.
