MyoWhey Supplement Recalled for Undeclared Allergens

Purus Labs Recalls MyoWhey Due to Presence of Undeclared Soy and Dairy

On September 20, 2018, Purus Labs, Inc. (based in Plano) issued an alert and official recall of its product, MyoWhey Chocolate Cookie Crunch. After an inspection by the Texas Department of State Health Services, it was discovered that the product contained traces of milk and soy. The product labeling did not contain mention of these ingredients, putting MyoWhey consumers with soy and dairy allergies at risk of experiencing dangerous allergic reactions to the product.

Liability for Illnesses Developed Due to Insufficient or Inaccurate Product Information

This sort of error by a product manufacturer can cause minor medical complications at best and life-threatening illness at worst. When consumers ingest a substance to which they are allergic because a manufacturer failed to properly assess their product or include necessary warnings, the manufacturer may be liable for the financial consequences of their negligence and the suffering of consumers. Anyone who has been affected by a manufacturer’s negligence must seek legal representation as soon as possible in such circumstances, especially after incurring large medical expenses.
